I axed my old feed, 500+ followers and all, the feed that had the spelling of my name that you’ll find in this site’s URL. But spelling is not why I axed it (well, not entirely). I axed it because the vast majority of my followers were my followers because of a project that I no longer put any energy into. It’s all part of this slow process to figure out how to more accurately reflect my current lived life while spending time here, in pixel-land.

So, you found me. Google brought you here, I assume, since this site isn’t advertised anywhere online. You were thinking about me–or maybe I just popped into your mind–and you decided to type my name into the promising search bar. Have we not seen each other for years? Or did we just have coffee last week and you’re feeling…bored? Warm? Nostalgic? Contemptuous? Enough of one of those feelings that you clackety-clicked my name. Well, there’s not much I’m going to tell you here that I wouldn’t tell you in person. Sorry to disappoint. But I’m just not one of those people who posts pictures of her kid, or pictures of myself as a kid, or shares very much at all (online, that is).

Oh, sure, if you’ve Googled me, you’ll know that I’ve got a few letters behind my name, and delivered some conference papers and ran a blog about leaving all of that behind. You’ll probably find a letter I wrote to Wired magazine in 1994 that is still archived out there on the internet tubes. You might find my current employer. But there’s not a lot out there that’s of much interest. And I hope to keep it that way. I’ve hidden my Facebook presence, shrunk my Twitter account, deleted my Vimeo account, and tried to get myself off every damn list and site I ever put myself on.

Eventually, I will build this site to mirror and enhance my current career trajectory, and try to build my online presence to parallel my flesh-world career expertise. That will take time, though. In the meantime, you’ll just have to be satisfied with Google’s broken links to blogs that no longer exist.
